Flavor Flow is a restaurant and catering business blending Nigerian, Jamaican, and African-American Southern cuisines — a one-stop experience for tastes across the diaspora. Built by three head chefs, the concept was bold from day one.

THE CHALLENGE
The food was already earning rave reviews, but the branding didn’t reflect what was happening on the plate. In a crowded market of competitors leaning on red palettes, illustrated logos, and generic sans serifs, Flavor Flow needed an identity that matched the caliber of the food and set them apart as the go-to for diasporic cuisine.
THE APPROACH
We built the brand around the food itself. While competitors defaulted to red, we pulled from the flags, cultures, and cuisines the restaurant represents — a palette rooted in meaning, not trend. Deep green, the shared color across each culture’s flag, became the foundation. A warm, complementary orange — blending the yellows and reds common across the diaspora — brought the heat and energy of the food to life. Deep brown grounded the system as a nod to the melanin skin uniting the cultures behind the cuisine, reinforcing the brand’s values of unity and community.
Typography followed the same logic: a bold decorative font captures the richness of the flavors, paired with a refined serif to add elevation and keep the system versatile across menus, signage, and digital.
THE OUTCOME
A memorable, intentional brand system that stands confidently apart from competitors and matches the cultural depth of the food. Three distinct logotypes, a palette rooted in meaning, and typography that balances boldness with refinement.
